Local Food Circle Meeting
Join us Wednesday June 13th for another local foods circle gathering 6:00 p.m
Our local foods circle is growing! What is the local foods circle? ; a supportive group of food producers and consumers interested in buying local foods. Each month our group meets at the Mercantile for a potluck supper (by invitation only, email us at mckittrickmercantile@yahoo.com to be invited) and an educational presentation. The group consists of both local food producers providing meat, produce, baked goods and more, as well as consumers committed to purchasing local foods. Our goal is to create a viable year round marketplace of local foods here in our area. Too many local food producers are driving their products to the larger urban areas where they can get better prices and have a consistent market. We are creating a market for them here. We all eat food every day. We too would like to know, personally, where our food is coming from. Everyone is welcome!
This month we will hear a presentation by Bernadette Dryden of SLOW Food Katy Trail. An international organization promoting and preserving local foods cultures. Bernadette is also the author of a cookbook about Missouri Wild Foods.
